A voice for people who can't rely on speech.

I Want To Talk is an AAC app for Android phones and tablets. Tap symbols or type, and the app speaks for you. It is built to be calm, clear and easy to use from the first day.

Made for every child

A smiling East Asian girl wearing ear defenders, using a tablet with symbol buttons
Calm, clear screens for children who find the world loud.
A cheerful boy in a wheelchair wearing a padded protective helmet, using a phone to talk
On a phone or a tablet, wherever the day goes.
A happy child with Down syndrome and glasses sharing a tablet with their mum
Easy for families, teachers and therapists to set up together.

What it does

Symbols that make sense

Clear, full-figure pictures for food and drink, feelings, greetings, play, travel, aches and pains, and the bathroom.

Speak word by word or all at once

Hear each word as it is tapped, or build a sentence and press Speak. Delete one word or clear the line in one tap.

Learns what you say

The words you use most move closer, and the next likely symbol is suggested as you build a sentence.

Typing with speech

A full keyboard with symbol suggestions above the keys, for users who are learning to spell or already can.

Face2Face™ conversations

On a tablet, two people sit at opposite ends and each gets their own side of the screen, facing them.

Made for families and schools

Parents, teachers and speech and language therapists can edit buttons, change layouts and choose bigger or smaller grids.

Why we are building it

We are a family in Gloucestershire. Our son is autistic and non-verbal, and the AAC apps we tried were either built for iPad only or so crowded that he couldn't find what he wanted to say. I Want To Talk is the app we want for him: simple to start with, and able to grow with him from childhood into adult life.

Coming soon to Google Play

The app is free to download and talk with. A Pro subscription will add extra tools for families, schools and therapists. We are testing with our own family now.
